Jonathan spent his first six years of legal practice involved in complex civil litigation, and he gained extensive experience in intellectual property, products liability, personal injury and employment matters.
For the next fifteen years, Jonathan took his practice in-house, when he served in various roles within the ServiceMaster family of companies. His in-house career culminated in a six-year role as Vice President and General Counsel of TruGreen LandCare LLC, during which time Jonathan participated in the company’s acquisition by a private equity fund.
While in-house, Jonathan developed extensive experience handling a wide variety of matters, including contract drafting, review and negotiation, employment and subcontractor issues, claims and litigation management, risk management and insurance issues, environmental, regulatory and compliance issues, privacy and general business issues.
Thereafter, Jonathan returned to private practice and, in 2014, founded his own firm (The Law Offices of Jonathan Wachtel) based in Memphis, Tennessee that acts as “outside, in-house counsel” for various national and multinational corporations. In that capacity, Jonathan is able to leverage his many years of experience for the benefit of his clients.
